16 students and 4 leaders, some returning for the second time, spent a week serving and learning in San Jacinto.

Leading Worship
During the service on Sunday, three team members shared their testimonies and the whole team sang four worship songs in English for the congregation.

Special Helpers
Children from the community joined team members Alissa Judson and Claire Spindler to help paint the water tank. By the time the first coat was finished, everyone left for lunch covered in blue.

View from the Top
Team Leader, Trinity Scurto, painting the top of the tank. Returning to El Salvador for the second time, she most enjoyed visiting Carlos DeLeón and his wife, Adilia, for whom the team helped build a house last year and shared a special bond. Their daughter, Natalie, battled health issues from birth and passed away at age 4 the week before the team arrived. When the team went to visit and pray with Carlos, Trinity said, “It was so good to be able to comfort each other in a sad time and talk about how God has worked in all of us through Natalie and see how her life has impacted so many.”

Water from San Jacinto
As part of ENLACE’s Church to Church Partnership Program, Willow Creek Community Church collaborated with Zurisadai Church on a project that, upon completion, will provide 1,700 people with clean water. By painting the tank, the students helped ensure it lasts for many years.

Demo!
Marki Yaccino and Jordan Furlan working on the storm drain. As part of the project, the team helped demolish an existing concrete structure by hand.
-
New Friendships
Matt Lowen, student leader, and Carlos López, project foreman. The team worked alongside Carlos and volunteers from the community who taught team members skills such as how to mix and lay concrete.
-
All work, all play
Ari Grubner, Jordan Furlan, Ryan McCauley, and Tommy Wlodek made sure to have fun while working on the road.
-
Teamwork
Later in the week, the Mayor of San Jacinto joined the efforts by providing a bulldozer to help with demolition. The team formed assembly lines to clear out the rubble.
-
Love of Christ
Nathan Zumbrock embraces Valentina Mojica Bolaños, a housing beneficiary, during a visit to her home. Valentina is blind and lives with her brother, Juan Pablo, who is also losing his sight. Team members shared Christ’s love by bringing groceries and praying for the family.

Stuck in a Ditch
Before the project dedication the team admired their work on the storm drain.

Party Time!
Around 200 people gathered including church members, community members, the team, and ENLACE staff, to celebrate the projects and the transformation taking place in the San Jacinto. As a special treat for the kids, ENLACE Church Coach, Marvin Sánchez, brought three piñatas.
